fiddle, guitar, vocals (& sometimes ukulele & piano)

“Fun music, toe tappin’ tunes — from a loyal fan!”

— Steve Brown

Tish is a vibrant force in the world of music, seamlessly blending her passions for both healthcare and artistry. Her journey began with the heartfelt creation of the song, "Abigail's Garden," that paints the beauty of nature and connection, setting the stage for an impressive repertoire that has grown to include over 20 original pieces. Each song she crafts is a reflection of her experiences and the world around her, with "Travelin’ Sam" capturing the serendipitous charm of a feline companion, and "You Can’t Stop a Girl" serving as an anthem of empowerment for women everywhere.

Her musical roots run deep, nurtured by a degree in Music Therapy from Slippery Rock University. Tish experimented in different musical roles over the next decade including music and recreation therapy, elementary music education both in the classroom and as a private instructor. She returned to her hometown of Lancaster PA to raise her family and went on to become an RN with the hopes of combining healing and music. What a journey it has been! She was able to hone her improv skills with several awesome bands including  the classical/folk band Susquehanna Trio, a bit of roots and swamp with the All Weather Band and now Irish/Celtic, folk and so much more with Abigail’s Garden. Variety is the spice of life, right?? Another recent venture is with the traditional bluegrass band
Stone House Breakdown, which won the CPMA award in 2023! She is able to share her music in a variety of venues, from intimate weddings and wineries to lively festivals and retirement homes.  She feels the end game in music is to entertain and transport to worlds both old and new and to create a sense of joy and happiness with each performance.

She embodies the belief that music and healing are two sides of the same coin. With her ukulele in hand and her fiddle leading the charge, Tish continues to weave her passions into a beautiful tapestry, enriching the lives of those around her, one note at a time.

Tish reflects, "My passion for music began at the age of eight when I wanted to play the piano like my older brother. I pursued a classical education for many years, eventually obtaining a BS in Music Therapy. Then the real adventure began! I transitioned from viola to fiddle to join my sister and brother-in-law, Laurie and Tom Reese, in the classical/folk band Susquehanna Trio. With their guidance, I started learning the techniques of comping and improvisation—there's so much to discover!"

"We later decided to incorporate vocals and concentrate on Irish music, which led to the formation of our Irish band, Abigail's Garden. It's such a cool blend of old and new, tradional and unique! I believe that the countless hours spent harmonizing at the piano during middle and high school laid the foundation for our current musical projects and my original compositions. I love exploring various musical styles and plan to continue creating music for as long as the universe allows!
